Out of the blue, one Wednesday morning, Phil called to ask me if I would like to bring the kids up and meet him at Snowbird after work to spend the night and ride the tram. You betcha! I got everyone packed up and we met daddy for a surprise get-a-way. Phil grabbed some Subway which we enjoyed just before getting on the tram for a ride up the mountain. Phil and I teased Jessica that there was a loop about half way up where the tram does a complete flip so to make sure to hold on tight for that part...
Here she is putting on a brave face. Right after I took this picture we went over the first tower and she panicked..."is this it?" We decided to let her in on our tease so she could enjoy the rest of the trip.
Tyson and momma. This is my actual brave face. I do not appreciate heights and spent the entire ride thinking..."what would happen if we fell now?....now?.....now?"
At the top!! Looking over into Mineral Basin.
This picture does not do justice to how beautiful all the wild flowers were.
We took a little hike down towards Mineral Basin
(please appreciate that I'm trying to control Tyson's smiling with my mouth ;)
Looking back up towards the tram.
Little did we realize how far we hiked down and how quickly we would have to hike back up to catch the tram. We also didn't take into consideration the kids short legs, the thinner air, nor how steep it had been coming down...
It was quite the hike back up.
Luckily, we soaked it off in the pool when we got back to the resort.
With some fun treats and the Olympics back in the room our evening was complete.
What a fun surprise to create some great memories together!
