Phil and I decided (Sunday afternoon the day before school started) that we really liked the idea of a back to school feast, where we would introduce the theme for the school year...something for the kids {and parents} to work on throughout the year. (idea from Nie Nie;)
So Sunday evening we enjoyed our feast...

Of course no feast is complete without crowns or a banner!
Tyson's M stands for mom since he'll have plenty of mom time this year.
Tanner's P is for preschool, Taylor for 2nd Grade, and Jess for 4th.
The letters on the boys are for their middle names (as most sets don't come with 3 t's ;)
Enjoying our feast
Chicken salad sandwiches from Costco!
Our theme for this school year is "listen & obey"
I added it to the wall as a good reminder.
Its been interesting how many things we've already tied into this theme.
Its been fun to have something to tie FHE into or even scripture study, getting up on time, piano & soccer practice...
a good one to start with!
Phil then gave the 3 oldest a Father's blessing to start the school year. As he was putting the chair back, Tyson grabbed it and said "my turn". So Phil pulled the chair back out and gave Tyson a blessing as well. He sat so still and quiet. An absolutely precious memory.
