Orlando

Phil and I got a chance to get a way to Orlando for 8 days, just the two of us!  It was such a wonderful time.  Phil was there for a conference which I tagged along to, then we spent an additonal 4 days there to see the sites and spend some over due time together!
His conference was at the Shingle Creek Hotel, which was beautiful.  It was rough for me.  The first day was a little chilly, in the low 70's, so I had to go do some shopping at these amazing outlet stores they have there.  The next couple of days are a blur as the weather was beautiful, the pools shining, and my book inspiring...I took advantage and hung out by the pool each day.  It almost felt too over indulgent...almost ;)
Phil was one of the presenters at the Conference.  I was able to sit in on his presentation.  He did such a good job, and is becoming quite the public speaker.  He did a great job of keeping the audience engaged and using the time well.  It was fun to be able to see him in action.
One of the evenings they had a party for all the conference goers.  With food, drinks, and caricatures!  Here Phil and I are posing for our artist.
The final result.
Phil is true to form...I think part of me is a little...enhanced ;)

Friday, we headed over to the Lake Buena Vista Resort for the remainder of our stay.  Complimentary breakfast was included.
Sunday morning it even included Characters from Disney World!
That evening we were unusually spontaneous, after Phil saw the ad in a local magazine, we went and got tickets to the touring Broadway Production of 'The Lion King'.  It was the highlight of the trip (other than being with Phil, of course). It was enchanting. I have never been to a Broadway show of any kind and this blew me away.  So well done, and the actors were top notch.
We then spoiled ourselves (and our diet) and enjoyed waffle cones from Ghirardelli @ Downtown Disney.
Monday we headed to Epcot for the Day.  It was beautiful as it was during their Garden Festival...

 In person...
 and in flowers!
Phil in China.  We wished the kids were with us here as so many people were speaking in Chinese.  It would have been fun to have a little white English kid respond to them.
Had to get a picture of me in Canada... as I'm part Canadian :)
Dinner in Morocco.  Absolutely delicious.  I had a falafel wrap, tangerine cous cous, and lentil beans.
This was a super cute fire station we came across while driving around the Disney Property.  The hose goes from the fire hydrant over to a fountain.
The best part of our trip was trying to fill up our rental car with gas before we returned it.  Two gas stations later...Amazed Phil is smiling here.  I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.  You'll have to ask him how he figured out to open the gas tank ;)
It was such a wonderful vacation with my sweetheart, what made it even better was knowing the kids were so well taken care of.  A huge thank you to all our family and friends that helped/filled in while we were gone.  Of course it was absolutely the busiest week at school while we fled the state.  Couldn't have done it without so many wonderful people in our lives.  We missed the kids terribly, but it was so worth it to have a little time together to catch up on things other than what the kids are up to ;) Thanks honey, for letting me tag along!
