Our First!

When Phil and I got married almost 10 years ago, we moved into a home where the previous owners left us the kitchen table, as it matched the counter tops, and the previous owners to them were the ones who bought the table. We did some updates, spray painted the chairs and added new fabric to the seats, as the chairs were initially gold, and the seats... white?? It did seat 6 people comfortably and being newlyweds, not having to buy another piece of furniture was wonderful! {pictured in the lower left corner} We in turn left it for the family who bought the home from us...

Then when we moved into our next, and current home, the previous owners once again left us their kitchen table. They had just had their third child and had outgrown the table. As we only had two kids at the time, it worked perfectly, and moving into a new home, not having to buy another piece of furniture was wonderful. Again, we spray painted and recovered the chairs.
As we now have our fourth little one on the way, and Tanner refuses to sit in the highchair, we have officially purchased our FIRST kitchen table! After almost 10 years, it was time to have something that reflected "us" a little more. It is so wonderful to have enough room for the whole family to sit together, and if we have people over not to have to drag up the card table and folding chairs :) Of course all three kids have to sit on the bench so they haven't experienced the more room aspect, but they love picking who gets to sit in the middle each meal!
