SURPRISE!

We had a 'Surprise' 60th Birthday Party for my dad on Saturday. The big day was April 27th, but we had it early to keep with the surprise factor... In my mad dash to get there before the birthday boy (who was suppose to show up around 6:10pm and actually made it about 7:00pm-my mom calculated the wrong time for their movie to get out...) I forgot my camera, Becky was so sweet to send me the ones she took and will now find them proudly displayed on my blog! So act 'surprised' when you see them on her blog too :)We celebrated with a Hawaiian Luau theme as Ryan and Sara & girls weren't able to join us. Dinner was Hawaiian Haystacks, and we had Tiki Torches, beach balls, paper lanterns, etc. Complete with Hawaiian music playing in the background...
The cake.
My Grandma was so excited to take care of ordering the cake for her "favorite" son, and couldn't have been more disappointed that the writing was in orange, instead of blue like she had ordered:) I made my dad a video of pictures of his childhood to present day. With all the pictures I scanned in I had copies made to decorate with. These were hung from these great beams in their kitchen. Others were taped to the walls.

Sara-So funny you said that about a party business. I had so much fun putting it all together, that I would love to do it as a business. I was talking to Phil about it the other day. When the kids get a little bigger I'm going to do some more checking in to it!! We sure missed you guys!

Love you lots,
Rach
