Filling In

This year for our Neighbor Gifts, we decided to try something different.  Instead of gifts, we invited our neighbors to our home to visit and donate the money they would have spent on neighbor gifts to a
sub- for -Santa.
We delivered the invitations to about 30 different families.
21 participated!

 The Guests

The only way I can summarize this experience is humbling. We truly live in such a wonderful neighborhood, with amazing, loving, generous friends. We chose 4 families who live in our area and were in need of help during the holidays. We felt a huge responsibility to make sure all the donations were used appropriately to bless all the families.  With much care AND prayer we felt like we were able to do just that. It was unbelievable what was accomplished by coming together to serve those in need.  We were able to fulfill the needs of each family and more! What a way to kick off the Christmas Season. Our faith in human kindness and charity was filled to overflowing! It was so much fun to visit and celebrate with our neighbors. We enjoyed every minute.

Rach we have done this on a ward level for the past few years...but I never actually thought about doing it on my own. Way to Go! What a GREAT idea. Now...if only I lived closer :)
