To Celebrate...

the Fourth, we took advantage of the entire weekend! Phil being the greatest dad ever, "took" the kids camping in the backyard. They loved every minute of it. With Mulan II on the DVD player, it didn't take them long to fall asleep... once it got dark, oh! about 10:30pm! They were up with the sun, so we got an early start to our Stake Breakfast...
Here's Tanner enjoying his cereal :) (trying to stay warm in the sun!)
Then it was on to the West Jordan parade. We had great seats and the kids got lots of candy. Phil was so cute, running out to get the candy, trying to make sure each of them got a fair amount (here I will reference you back to my 'greatest dad ever' comment). The weather was perfect and we all enjoyed ourselves...
After naps in the afternoon it was on to swimming and a barbeque @ Grandma & Grandpa's... who were in Lander, Wyo. for an amazing firework show. With the report back on the fireworks, we're booking a hotel already for next year!
After being thoroughly pruned, Phil dropped me and the two youngest @ home for bed, and took Jess and Taylor to the West Jordan fireworks show.
All in all it was a wonderful weekend and made us so grateful for the blessing of living in a free country! Thank you to all who are serving and sacrificing to keep it free.

Happy 4th! WHERE did you get those adorable striped swim trunks? They are so precious!!! Looks like you all had such a fun weekend! You would think us soooo unpatriotic if you knew how little we did for the 4th - and it may be our last in this country as well! Oh well, I'm hoping they don't remember lol! Maybe we'll make an effort to make it extra special when we are the only family celebrating it next year!
