Our Anniversary...

The kink enjoying our hotel room...

My darling romantic husband, called me about noon on our anniversary and asked me to go get something off the dresser for him... Actually, it was for me. It was a clue. The first clue of a treasure hunt:
1)
It has been quite the journey and I’m so lucky to be spending it with you. Today we celebrate a milestone, after ten wonderful years since we said I do.

o I want to play a game like the night my whole life changed. But in place of a shovel and a mountain of snow, you have four wonderful helpers that may make you deranged.

o Yes, I’m talking about the night you said YES and agreed to be my wife! Your dad assured me that with any of your tears he would quickly end my life.

o But enough of the rhymes for to me they amuse. I assure you your quick wit I don’t intend to abuse.

o Clue one isn’t so hard, in fact it’s quite easy. Dinner time now SEATS six when you’re serving mac and cheesy.

Phil always goes above and beyond, and this was very reminiscent of the night he proposed as it also started with a treasure hunt... one that ended with a ring, but included like he mentioned a shovel, and snow (I'll have to post that story one of these days)

The treasure hunt led me and the kids, on a hunt through the house for clues. The kids were thoroughly entertained!

It ended with a card that told me to pack my (and Tyson's) bag, because we would be going away for the night. He came and got me about 3pm and we headed up to Park City. We checked into our hotel, The Dakota, on the Canyon's Resort. It was quite the room, even had its own bar and fireplace! We then went to dinner @ The Eating Establishment on Main Street. It was absolutely delish. We filled ourselves with ribs, pulled pork, and beef brisket. Yum!

Tyson slept the entire time, and woke up long enough to eat and then have a tour of the hotel. Too bad it was cold and rainy or he might have even had a dip in the pool. When Tyson woke up that morning, Phil went to go get him for me and layed him on his chest. Tyson fell asleep for another hour just resting on Phil. He was a gem. It was a pleasure to have him along on our night out. He couldn't have been better! Either could our anniversary.

It wasn't exactly how we had planned it, as we were sure we'd be celebrating 10 years on a warm sandy beach; having a newborn put a slight kink in that plan, but we're so grateful for that little kink!

Rach, this post made me laugh. We also had a little kink in our 10 year anniversary plans! We traded in the sandy beaches for dinner and a night away (with the baby) as well. Next year still counts though..right!
