We started our mid-October trip off with a drive to Primm, Nevada. Where we arrived early as the weather reports predicted 90 degree weather. Whiskey Pete's swimming pool was calling our name. As we all raced to get our luggage unloaded, into our swimsuits and down to the pool... I have to admit we were a little disappointed that the pool wasn't heated. In fact, it felt as if they had been chilling it with ice cubes. With all the effort we went to, we spent a few minutes chillin' in the hot tub, but then on to the outlets! The following day we drove into LA to start our Southern California Adventure Pass @ Universal Studios. The kids had a great time with the shows and the fun movie sets. We took the studio tour which was fascinating, and even got to visit Wisteria Lane where they had been filming earlier! We then headed to the house we were renting for the week, which was perfectly wonderful. It fit all of us (the extended Sorenson family joined us... minus the Stotts) and it even had a heated pool, and you could see the fireworks from Disneyland from the hot tub, each night. The next day we headed south to Sea World, which the kids absolutely loved, yet, I forgot the camera... I do believe one of my brothers whose name starts with an R, was going to e-mail me some of those pictures.... hint, hint.
The next day we finally made it to the Happiest Place on earth. We were lucky enough to spend 3 days there and had such a wonderful time. We took two days of breaks in between to relax and hang out by the pool and it seemed just perfect!
All the cousins enjoying posing with Dumbo. I had to add in this picture of Tanner with Minnie Mouse, makes me want to cry each time I see it. He was so brave to pose with the big kids!
Tanner readying himself for Midway Mania...
Jessie got to spend her birthday @ Disneyland, and to make her day extra special her amazing aunts got her all dolled up for the day. The picture doesn't do it justice. She was absolutely stunning.
To seal the deal on a wonderful vacation and to make the entire day a celebration for her birthday! Jessica and I went back to Disneyland that night to see the fireworks and Fantasia with her aunt Liana. It was a spectacular show... though ending @ 11pm, I was surprised Jess made it home without crashing. We even hit her favorite ride (Pirates of the Carribean) after the show!
We made the trek home in one day. It was a really long day. After taking a detour to clean up Tanner after he got sick, and several breaks to keep Phil and I awake we made it home just after midnight. It was such a fun family vacation.. the first official Sorenson Family Vacation since any of us kids were married. Good thing we did it justice!
